Overall this is such a lovely Christmas picture book and perfect to look at and read again and again. The story itself is lovely but the illustrations make this truly magical and I love how cute and fun the snow fox and the old man look and the lovely details you can see in some of the pictures, like the extra little creatures you can see when the shelves are full.

There’s something about the story that is so unbelievably sweet and heart-warming and I love the last page where you can see a lovely images of the snow fox, and where it is sitting, at the end. This story is so sweet, I love how the snow fox slowly discovers who the man is through her observations. As time goes on it’s clear to us who the old man is, and when the snow fox goes with him on a special trip during the night, there’s a magical moment and a beautiful ending. As the snow fox plays outside in the grass she notices the old man collecting wood, then back inside his home he begins painting, sewing, and creating lots of toys which he ends up placing on to his shelves. The old man sleeps for a long time but one day when the snow has melted he wakes up and begins working. The story is lovely, following the snow fox as it explores the old man’s house which is filled with empty shelves and she decides to settle to sleep on his bed. The front cover has some beautiful silver foil detail with the title and all the snowflakes making it look so special when you tilt this to the light! ©The Strawberry Post But who is he? She tries to dig into the snow to find some food, but there is nothing until she finds somewhere where there is light, and the smell of dinner.
